Good day AppleVis, and today on this podcast I'll be demonstrating the NAD Sadhana app.
Now I did do a podcast on this in 2021.
So today is going to be about revisiting the app, because since my podcast in 2021, the app has undergone major changes when it comes to accessibility, like when it comes to features as well as accessibility improvements, simply user interface and all that great stuff.
And the developers really committed when it comes to accessibility, which is really great to see.
And what this app basically does, it basically listens to you and according to your singing, it will improvise.
The app is primarily based for Indian classical musicians, but the cool thing is that it also has styles for Western music as well.
And so you can say it's not primarily an Indian classical music app, it is for all styles of music really.
And it's really great and it will, the app leverages artificial intelligence and based on artificial intelligence, it listens to you and it improvises according to your singing and your instrument playing.
So without me ranting on too much, we will get right straight into the demonstration.
Now I will open the Naad Sadhana app, so the way it's spelled is N-A-A-D-S-A-D-H-A-N-A. So I'll open the Naad Sadhana app, so I'll double tap here.
So the first thing you'll see is welcome to Naad Sadhana premium.
Devotional style, so this is the first thing you'll see here.
Devotional style, music, heading, music, perform, heading, perform with live orchestra, guidance, karaoke and audio recorder button, perform with live orchestra, karaoke and all that because as I said, the app has gone major changes and improvements and new features.
One of the features is added is karaoke as well, so you can sing along with the karaoke track as well.
Video record your performance with live orchestra and karaoke button.
Video record your performance, practice, heading, find my pitch button, find my pitch, guided workouts button, guided workouts, explore and learn button, explore and learn, smart keyboard button, smart keyboard, bar, selected, music, tab, one of four.
This is the music tab, songbook, tab, two of four, songbook.
So now what the developers also done is now there's one of the features that he's added is you can basically create a song in the app.
Like you know, you can set the style of, you know, music, your genre, everything and you know, the instruments and stuff as well.
Also even paste the lyrics of the song and all that, you know, it's really cool how he's implemented it.
Recordings, tab, three of four, recordings, help, tab, four of four, help.
So we'll explore all the tabs and details.
Selected, songbook, go to the songbook tab, all songs, songbook, all songs and playlists sync to iCloud drive, songbook, heading, my songs, zero button, create new song button, create new song, song is a shortcut for preserving and applying instrument presets, tuning configurations and more.
My playlists, zero button, create new playlist button.
A playlist is a list of songs that can be played with the right swipe.
Tab bar, music, tab, one of four.
So that's the songbook tab.
Recordings, tab, three of four, search from the music tabs, perform more record section, zero recordings, heading, search recordings, search from the music tabs, perform more record section, initiate an audio or video recording.
Once the recording is stopped, it will automatically show up here.
Tab bar, music, tab bar.
Now that I don't have any recordings in here, but if I did have a recording in here, what I'd be able to do is go into the recording and by magic, uh, doing a two finger double tap or a magic tab, I'll be able to play the recording.
Also I'll be able to, you know, set things like effect, um, and you know, volume adjustments and all that stuff.
So because this app has a multi track shooter, multi track recorder, you can adjust all the tracks individually.
And now there's also another option of quick mix and style presets as well.
So you can quickly mix, like for example, microphone, you know, if you need to adjust or higher or lower or, you know, melody and harmony and rhythm and percussion, all that.
So it's like a quick mix and then you can export all the tracks either as a folder or, you know, export a single file, like, you know, merge all the tracks and make a single file.
So that's also another option.
So yeah.
So this is the recording tab.
Now we'll go to songbook, tab, tab, tab, tab, help center, heading purchases, heading premium plan, manage renewal Friday, June 28th, 2024 in 26 days button tutorials and help heading tutorials and help.
Now as you can hear heading, like the developers made really good use of the heading rotor so you can also swipe down with one finger or swipe up, you know, through the headings, you know, when you've set the heading rotor and we'll see that in a minute play introduction button play introduction, new button demo, creating a music video button demo, creating a music tutorials, YouTube playlist button tutorials, YouTube playlist frequently asked questions button frequently asked featured heading, get featured heading, get your music video button, submit your music video, visit a YouTube channel button, visit our YouTube collaborate with it.
Now it's that hander underscore app button collaborate with, you know, so now you can also collaborate.
Like if you've made a recording, you send it to your friend who has an outside the app, then you can, you know, merge, like collaborate on top of each other and all that really support heading, suggest new features button, suggest new features, ask a question button, ask a question.
Enjoying not satana.
Let us know button, report a problem collapsed and we'll tap to expand problem button, report a problem expanded button, report a button enjoying not but report report a problem via mail app button, report a problem via Gmail button, careful heading, reset all tips button, reset all settings button v nine.
So that's the nine zero dot 14.8 Sandeep Rene production button, privacy button, not satana.com button credits button link tab bar music.
So that's the help tab.
Now if I characters use the heading to headings, careful heading, support heading, get featured heading, support heading, get featured tutorials, purchases, help center heading so I can swipe up or down wire via the headings music tab.
So now we'll go back to the music tab selected tab bar, practice video, perform, perform, heading, perform.
Now we will go to the perform tab here, um, perform with live orchestra.
So let's double tap on the perform heading, perform with live music, back music, back button music, the back record audio off button, record audio.
So that's the first thing you'll see here.
So if you double tap on this, you know, you'll be able to record your choose microphone button, pop up button, double tap to activate the picker, playback destination button, playback destination selected guidance tab button heading.
Now there's three, four options here, guidance instruments, tab zero and 27 on heading songs tab button heading karaoke tab button heading and karaoke selected instruments.
We will select instruments, song, karaoke tab, but essentials heading.
So now the catch here is a few karaoke tab, but try to slide down with one finger using the headings router performance controls heading that will take you to the performance control.
So what you need to do karaoke tab, but songs tab karaoke is swipe right essentials heading until you get to the essentials tab, uh, the essentials heading and then swipe right, uh, swipe down studio heading harmony and melody, hit guitars, hitting rhythm, hitting percussion, hitting performance controls, hitting.
So then you'll be able to, um, go through all the instrument sections, 50, 40, 34% selected maximum harmony and studio essentials heading.
So essentials, um, music, music, music, all of that.
Let's check out the styles of music as well.
So I've, I've selected the devotional style at the moment form heading, but if I go back, now there's two ways of selecting your music genre or style.
So you can either do it from the perform, you know, with live orchestra or video or you know, any other options, um, and select the style or you can go back and devotion.
The first option you'll see is, you know, the genre music genre activate to dismiss pop up window style heading close button selected Indian button one of three Western button two of three worlds button three of three world.
Let's personalize your experience for your musical genre.
So this is the Indian styles, uh, all right, you know, different styles of style, Hindustani tuning, gander or just intonation, Kyle bandish Tarana heading style kinetic tuning, gander or just intonation rag arm, Tanim, Palavi heading style, druid tuning, 22 shrewd your microtonal druid, Damar, Haveli heading style, semi classical tuning, gander or just intonation Ghazal Thamri Dadra heading selected style devotional tuning, 12 tone equi tempered or general budgeon Abhanga Kirtan heading double tap to start devotional style, Bollywood tuning 12 tone equi tempered or general light music, Babji medley heading style, 22 shrewd tuning, 22 shrewd your microtonal Kyle bandish Tarana heading style 20.

button notes training button ear training workout history button selected music note button now first things we'll go to the notes section here level easy guided descent and descent of the rugger or scale starting from the root note pick your workout level style reference drones heading drone left off drone right off button because i've already selected a style of music um and also with the app you can also select automatic harmonizer which means if you don't know what style you're singing for example if you start singing the app will try and gauge your singing and you know improvise according to you know your singing so you can use the automatic harmonizer for that is really really useful drone off button studio heading in a monitor off button western style button western style you can also adjust the style from here as well so there's different places where you can select the styles um either from the perform options from the performance control or from here level easy button pop-up button level easy so you can this is a pop-up where you can select reference drones off button tap dispatch a sherry rugger button now you can here's the way you can select the style of work no ear training button but now we will go to ear training no workouts notes music note ear training button level easy listen to a note and identify its name pick your reference drone drone left drone organ drone western level for the ear training demo we'll pick the hard level so dismiss content hard button organ drone start ear training button start ear training so in the ear training there's 12 rounds so basically it's like a multiple choice thing so when you hear the notes you're going to be you've got to select what notes they are so i'll double tap on here or to start the ear um work so we'll work out because music um so that was the notes and the ear training work tab bar help music back music what tab bar help helped collect it help you to play and play the on-boarding introduction as well so you kind of get a feel of how the developer play introduction on boarding play introduction from here you can also set hander understand all of music not sad not sad hander understands your music and plays a virtual live orchestra helping you practice and reach new heights and record mix and share your music effortlessly next button later button later but next button so double tap on next next what's your style hit indian heading style hindu stany kyle bet style kinetic ragam style drooper drooped style semi-classical gazelle style devotional budgen abhanga kirtan so if i double tap on any style what do the rhythm instruments that will kind of play like a preview sort of thing if i double tap on devotional selected style so that will kind of play the preview back but start i'm gonna select the devotional style because that's what i'm gonna use that to demo help center heading tap music music so i'll go back to the practice here uh perform perform with live orchestra guided music back button now the cool thing is the developers made really good use of magic tap as well to start and stop the melody and rhythm instruments and percussion instruments as well so rhythm and percussion and melody and harmony so if i double tap once double tap with two fingers or magic tap as it's called if i do that once starting melody and harmony starting melody and harmony if i double tap with two fingers again starting rhythm if i double tap with two fingers again rhythm and percussion again melody and harmony stopping melody and harmony stopping so that's how you can basically start and stop the instruments now i will do a quick demo starting melody this is a really nice composition um basically it's of you know the idol of god being adorned in the like sandalwood pace because in india at the moment it's summertime so to court you know to have you know cool but you know not get too hot the idol god is dressed in clothes you know enriched with sandalwood paste so i will start the demo now as you can see the app is improvising it's improvising you know and you'll see in a minute ah ah ah ah um ah so ah ah ah ah rhythm melody and so there you have it guys it is this app really stands out from all the other apps the way it listens to you and improvises um i do apologize for the little bit of a audio stutter i think um it normally doesn't do it i think probably because it's screen recording um but yeah do try this app out it is a great app and the developer's commitment to accessibility is really really great like if i have raised a bug you know he will try and fix it you know really quickly and you know it's just really really great the developer himself is a really great singer and a really great indian classical singer and yeah no so do try this app out it is a great it is subscription based it's about 65 australian a year so yeah it is worth it and one thing i did forget to tell you is the app also the the reason this app also stands out from the other apps is because if you're singing or playing an instrument the app will tell you whether you are hitting the right notes or not so it basically will tell you you know whether you're singing sharp or singing flat or you know whatnot um so yeah there you have it guys thanks for listening and bye for now

Great podcast
As an indian blind musician living in north america, Ive found very complicated to find accessible apps/ resources for making indian music in an accessible way with computer. Although swarplug is an option and seems accessible my interest in DAW wasn't strong enough for me to pay the full price. I am glad to discover this app that seems to do at least part of what I've been looking for years. Thanks!
Great to hear.
I'm glad you enjoyed this podcast.
Do try the app out.
What instruments do you play or are you a singer?
